Battle scarred and weary we emerged from the undergrowth having crossed the dyke at the far end of Goose Bank. Was it not for the fact that we are of the stuff which great explorers are made we would never have made it to the Wh, H, where Vicci licked my wounds as I sat gratefully sinking a pint!
Extract from Sunday, 18th October, 1981:
A fine sunny morning, with a full cast. We drove to Bourne Woods and had a good walk, hard to start with, but rather relaxed towards the end.
Harris and I wore our knee britches, which were almost too warm for the day.
"What a mixed bag of dogs!" declared George.
